They support research into demylinating diseases like multiple sclerosis. The movie Lorenzo's Oil is about the founders of The Myelin Project and the work they did with their son Lorenzo. He has adrenoleukodystrophy. It also
destroys the myelin like MS. ALD is usually fatal at about age 7.
Lorenzo is still alive over 10 years after the movie was made.
