Pho is Vietnamese noodle soup, it's pretty good. The classic way it's served is that you assemble the soup yourself, the herbs and other stuff are on the side. It can be bland, but filling.

We ate at an excellent Thai restaurant ... a small, family owned & run place. Excellent food. 10 minutes east of downtown. The owner waited every table, bussed them, and ran the register. His wife ran the kitchen herself. It took a little longer than usual to get our food, but it was worth the wait. They do not serve alcohol (customers would linger too long) - it's reputed to be the best Thai in Spokane, so it's busy.
