American-style chain restaurant. American food happily takes in all cuisines, but apart from high-end restaurants American-style usually means burgers and fries, 'greasy spoon' breakfast (eggs and hash browns), apple pie, and coffee in round plastic pots, specify leaded or unleaded.
The potato is a vegetable, ketchup is a fruit and salad is rabbit food. (So it was just a few decades ago, and may still be, depending where you go.) Denny's is actually much better than that, more variety, reasonably priced, family-friendly and open daily round the clock.

A booking site for elegant B&Bs and inns. Most are smokefree both inside and on the grounds. The owners of the web site are friendly and forthcoming about the matter. NZ legislation restricts smoking in many public facilities and the owners say that NZ inns are so predominantly smokefree, at least indoors, that it tends to be taken for granted.
