I called to find out more about Ratz.
"I heard you were nonsmoking," I asked timidly, "is that true?"
"You bet it is!" said the voice at the other end.
Encouraged, I asked what their hours were.
"I don't know the hours," he said, "I don't even work here."
I guess he just happened to be the guy nearest the phone.
"Sounds like you're having a good time," I said.
"You bet!" he said. "It's the same hours as every bar -
come on down and watch the game." A TV was burbling in the background.
He sounded relaxed and happy. "And there's live music
on Tuesday nights. Come on over."
A friendly smokefree bar with sports on TV. What more need I say?

In 2001 Minot banned smoking in restaurants.
