CHARLOTTE
Contra Dance Carolina
(in different locations around Mecklenburg County)
Contra Dance is a high energy, non-competitive, social dance form done to live acoustic music. Prepare to sweat. Each dance is taught briefly. No partner or experience needed though the ability to laugh at one's self is useful. Patterns resemble a madcap square dance requiring thinking and fast reflexes so all venues are substance free. Newcomers are welcome be they youths, seniors, or somewhere in-between.
Dress is casual/active with flat soft soled, non-marking shoes are recommended. Women tend to wear skirts as they are cooler than pants and fun to flip about. Most venues offer seating for those who want to watch the dancers and listen to the music. Dances are roving; start times, dates and venues vary. For the next dance See: http://www.ContraDanceCarolina.org
Children: Bring a spare adult to the share supervision of children under 12. People tend to dance w/ infants in packs. Once to big for packs it is safest for most children at high energy weekend venues sit out until they are teens. Care givers are encouraged to check if a specific venue has an area children can amuse themselves without getting under foot.

Table Restaurant & Bar

Upscale Restaurant. Smoking is allowed on the patio outside in one section only (near bar)
Table Restaurant & Bar is a unique upscale restaurant offering an elegant
dining experience in an inspiring environment. The interior décor takes its cues from the glamour era of 1920's - 1940's.
Two eighteen foot glass wine towers anchor the bar to the open dining
room. Upon entering the restaurant your eye is drawn to the "main table"
made of carrera marble and flanked by two cheese cellars. This
magnificent centerpiece will be a staging area for culinary presentations.
A chef creates delights that will be a feast for your eyes as well as
your palette. A rounded staircase adorned with glass-ball railings leads
diners to the second level mezzanine. The view from above is spectacular.
Our Executive Chef, Gene Briggs mantra is "from farm to table", as is any
great chef's. Meaning that we source the freshest ingredients from
farmers and present the composed entrée to your table.
