Update 2002: Maine restaurants have been smokefree for 2 years now. A visitor to Maine reports that it's working "very very well". Stand-alone bars still allow smoking.

Note: Many sea- or bayside Maine restaurants close during the late fall and winter months. As the cold months approach, it's best to call ahead.
