[How does it compare to the rest of the community?] It's hit and miss. Another Italian restaurant in Egham lost our business for the day because it was smoky inside. We considered ourselves very lucky to find this non-smoking place (an unexpected boon) (will go back often).
Very good food, very good service, and an incredible children's menu (not the same as the one on the website, as they vary from one location to another of this chain of restaurants), with 9 interesting choices, and children are free on weekends in August. It came with lots of fun puzzles to do in a booklet, crayons, a pizza-shaped placemat to color, and a game to play, as well as balloons! The regular menu had a huge array of appealing choices for adults, with delectable specials. They were happy to make substitutions or additions to dishes as well.

my husband and I just discovered another FABULOUS COMPLETELY SMOKE FREE PUB.
If you drive along London Road (a big main road, the A30) to Windlesham, you can't miss it. It's right there on the road. There is a car park behind it.
Completely smoke-free eating pub (these are rare around here until the new law goes into effect in 2007). There is a sign to this effect above the front door! Delicious upscale pub food (alongside the shepherd's pie and honey roasted root vegetables, they have specials such as exotic mushroom and pine nut linguine). Fast and friendly service. Rustic wooden tables, no table cloths. No reservations required. You order your food at the bar and they bring it to you at the table. They open a tab for you so you can go order your dessert later and pay then. Good desserts garnished with fresh mint (chocolate brownies, pudding, crumbles, etc.).
Will certainly go back. It was great for a date with my husband, but I will be delighted to bring the kids back too.
